lyrics

We were lost at sea when suddenly
Giant tentacles reached up over the starboard bow
They were grabbing at everybody
Old Leviathan’s head parted the waves
Its tail still miles beneath

Someone’s overboard!
Captain overboard!
The monster, a mountainous shadow
Swam up and swallowed us whole

Launched into a deep and dark cave
We’re catapulted into open jaws
They were lined with ivory teeth
We sailed into its bowels
Where ghost ships harbour cast off philosophies

Living underneath in the belly of the beast
We wondered ‘Is this it?’ And ‘will we get out alive?’
We focused our resolve into a fiery blaze
And the monster, flaring its nostrils coughed us out

We separated, crashed into the waves!

Splashing through the dark, searching for a hand to hold onto
No anchor, no answer, except from the wind, oh-oh
And by a stroke of luck, I washed up on a shore, didn’t know where
I was a long way from home, and a step out of time

Sleepy and the Noise Ottawa, Ontario

Power trio composed of songwriter Christian Pasiak (vocals/guitar), Kira Montfort (drums) & Brian Dick (bass).
